Carrington Academy is committed to not only changing the lives of your children, but our community. Over the past 10 years, Carrington Academy families have provided local charities with truck loads of food, clothing, toys and countless hours of time. Thank you to each and every family that has donated and touched the lives of many families within our community.
September 11, 2001- 10 Year Anniversary Memorial Donation
Families and children donated $100 to the September 11th Memorial in New York City, where a stone will be placed with the following inscription "In Honor of our Heroes". Carrington Academy pre-k and kindergarten classrooms took time out of their day for a moment of silence to reflect on the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Thank you to all the families that serve our communities!
Clothing Drive
Carrington's Annual Coat & Clothing Drive will be held at each campus in October. Anyone in the community can drop off coats and outerwear at any campus for donation. All clothing is distributed to local and national charities.
Food Pantry
Carrington's Annual Food Drive will be held in November. Anyone in the community can drop off unexpired food cans, dry cereals, rice, pastas, bottled water, cookies, snacks, powdered drinks, cake boxes, etc. Please no frozen, fresh foods, liquids (besides water), expired items, or items that will soon expire (1 month from date). Carrington Academy also donates a large quantity of large canned food items, rice, pastas and dry food items from each of our Carrington Kitchens. Last year our cooks made 10 large fresh turkeys and several trimmings that were donated to the local food pantry, which in turn provided Thanksgiving Dinner to many local families in need. All foods may be donated at any Carrington Campus. All foods go to local food pantry's or families in need right here in Forysth County.
Toy Drive
Carrington's Annual Toy Drive will be held in December. All toy donations must be new and in their original boxes. Please keep donations under $10 items and choose books (picture books, beginning reading, etc), dolls, puzzles, learning toys, Animal Figures, Playdough, Drawing Sets, etc. Please no action figure items, non age-appropriate toys, electronic games, etc. All toys are donated to several local charities: Haven House, Families In Need, Fire Station Toy Drives, etc.
