A Note From Our Principal,
Thank you for the love and appreciation you all showed our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week last month. We value your involvement! Last month we enjoyed being outdoors together, celebrating Mother’s Day, and getting our classrooms ready for summer. Our Summer Camp programs officially kick-off on (date) and we’ll be sending lots of updates on our daily activities through Links 2 Home. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your family!
This month’s baby signs are “Dog” and “Cat”. To sign the word Dog, tap your hand flat against your thigh repeatedly. To sign the word Cat, pinch your thumb and index finger together by the sides of each cheek, while keeping your remaining fingers straight.
This month your child will learn problem-solving skills by stimulating your child’s curiosity by motivating them to find solutions to everyday puzzles.
This month, your child will identify events that occur in the beginning and end of stories, continue naming shapes and discuss summertime activities.
This month, your child will compare and contrast objects by using physical attributes (color, shape, size, weight), explore rocks in nature, and express her own wants and needs.
This month, your child will attempt to sound out unknown words in text, count by tens up to 100, and identify various forms of transportation.
Read Together, Talk Together
This is a glimpse of what books will be introduced this month. Please see classroom bulletin boards for additional themed books.
Warm Weather Reminders
Water Day will be starting soon. Please be sure to dress your child in their bathing suit, sunscreen and swim shoes. Also, you will need to send them a towel, change of clothes and dry shoes. Please send a labeled water bottle and sunscreen to school with your child if you’ve not already done so. In addition to keeping a bottle at school, students should come to school having already applied sunscreen for the day. Thank you!
