Monthly Curriculum
Infant
In our infant program, we start using baby sign language from the earliest months. Baby signs are common terms that have been modified and simplified from American Sign Language. The signs for this month are ” Dog & Cat”. To sign “dog” tap your hand flat against your thing repeatedly. To sign “cat” pinch your thumb and index finger together by the side of each cheek, while keeping your remaining fingers straight.
Toddlers
This month, toddlers will be working on problem-solving. Problem-solving is an essential life skill that is developed at a young age. Stimulating you child’s curiosity will motivate him/her to find solutions to everyday puzzles.
Beginner
This month, your child will identify events that occur in the beginning and at the end of stories, continue naming shapes, and discuss summertime activities.
Intermediates
This month, your child will compare and contrast objects by using physical attributes (color, shape, size, and weight), explore rocks in nature, and express her own wants and needs.
Pre-K
This month, your child will compare characters in stories, practice writing uppercase and lowercase letters, and explore the postal mail process.
Read Together, Talk Together
This is a glimpse of what books will be introduced this month.
-A Summery Saturday Morning
-Beach Day
-Zigby Camps Out
Warm Weather Reminders
Please send a labeled water bottle and sunscreen to school with your child if you’ve not already done so. In addition to keeping a bottle at school, campers in our school-age program should come to school having already applied sunscreen for the day. They can also bring labeled insect repellent as it may be needed on some field trips. Thank you!
