This month’s baby sign is “Book”. To sign the word Book, press your hands together, palm-to-palm. Holding your pinky fingers together, open up your hands as if opening a book.
This month your child will begin developing their knowledge of numbers. Children listen carefully as they hear adults count and talk about the size and weight of items. Participating in number activities with your child will help develop his counting skills.
This month, your child will feel and describe different textures and temperatures, name the shapes of three-dimensional objects, and identify objects found at the beach.
This month, your child will talk about events using past and future tense, learn to write his first name in print, and memorize and sign patriotic songs.
This month, your child will attempt to sound out unknown words in text, count by tens up to 100, and identify various forms of transportation.
Read Together, Talk Together
This is a glimpse of what books will be introduced this month. Please see classroom bulletin boards for additional themed books.
Warm Weather Reminders
Water Day is upon us. Please be sure to dress your child in their bathing suit, sunscreen and swim shoes (closed toe). Also, you will need to send them a towel, change of clothes and dry shoes. Please send a labeled water bottle and sunscreen to school with your child if you’ve not already done so. In addition to keeping a bottle at school, students should come to school having already applied sunscreen for the day. Thank you!
