Health and Safety

Providing a healthy, safe, and nurturing learning environment for our students is our highest priority. We pride ourselves in following our school’s comprehensive health and safety practices, and staying updated with guidance from local and state health departments to ensure the well-being of our students and staff.

Keeping Germs at Bay

Our sick policy helps us maintain a clean and healthy environment for our school community. You can assist us in reducing the spread of illness by keeping your child at home if they’re feeling unwell. It’s important for them to fully recover before returning to school. In the event that your child becomes sick at school, please be assured that we will keep them comfortable and contact you to pick them up promptly. We also encourage good hygiene practices, such as handwashing and covering mouths and noses when coughing or sneezing.

Sparkling Spaces for Growing Minds

We know that young children are especially susceptible to illnesses. Our staff regularly sanitizes and disinfects classrooms and common areas – paying close attention to high-touch areas, such as doorknobs, light switches, and toys, as these can be germ hotspots. All cleaning products are used responsibly and stored in secure, locked cabinets inaccessible to our students.

Superhero Teachers Ready for Anything

Our teachers undergo thorough background and reference checks, and credential verification. We also conduct extensive interviews to ensure that our teachers are not only qualified, but also possess the integrity necessary to work with young children. They are also regularly trained on emergency preparedness. We provide professional development in child abuse awareness and prevention, CPR, allergy protocol, first aid, proper supervision of children, and behavior management. Our teachers are well-prepared to act quickly and calmly in any emergency. In addition, all teachers are also trained on our face-to-name procedure, which helps us monitor that our students are safe and accounted for at all times.

Commitment to Building Security

At our school, safety begins the moment you walk through our doors. Access is limited to enrolled families, staff, and registered visitors. We require all visitors to check-in at our front desk, provide identification, and wear a visitor badge during their time in our school. We have also implemented strict procedures to ensure that only authorized adults are permitted to pick up a child from our school. This includes requiring prior approval from the child’s family, verifying the identity of the adult, and keeping up-to-date documentation of all individuals authorized to pick up the child.

Culture of Care

We embrace a culture of care – physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually, both in and out of the classroom. We prioritize creating a safe and inclusive environment where every individual is respected and valued. One key aspect of our culture of care is our language of care. We believe the words we use make a difference and have the power to shape our relationships. We expect all members of our community to treat one another with respect and utilize respectful language in all interactions.
